Browns Food Group are a privately owned family business with a turnover of c £200 million, operating from 7 state of the art facilities manufacturing an extensive range of high quality cooked and raw meat products, ranging from salmon, poultry, pre-sliced and whole joints of cooked meat to convenience foods and a variety of delicatessen items. The entire group boasts a product range which extends well into the thousands. Our product development team are continually striving to produce new and exciting goods.

Food safety / legality, customer satisfaction and product quality are pre requisites to our business, through the introduction of the Technical Programme we are looking to generate the future custodians of our technical requirements. Positions within the Group structure include, Technical Directors, Technical Managers, Quality Managers, Quality Supervisors, Raw Material Managers, Food Technologists, amongst many others, with site manufacturing locations throughout the UK.

The Programme

The programme is designed to provide personal development through all technical requirements, which will include, food safety / legality, product quality, microbiology, factory operational and hygiene standards, which will include both internal and external auditing. In addition management training will be an integral element of your development, offering genuine progression opportunities within the Group Technical functions as the business continues to grow.

Training will be structured with both internal and external training as required to provide the rounded experience required to succeed in a modern day technical function.

The position will require a degree of flexibility in both working patterns and locations to facilitate training projects as required.

The Programme will be structured over a 2 year development plan, providing a detailed understanding of customer and legislative requirements and a comprehensive understanding of the companies systems and procedures.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a degree / HND (C) in a food related discipline, supported by at least 6 months food manufacturing experience, although not essential as for the right candidate, full training will be provided.

Good organisational and communication skills are essential as well as the need for own transport.
